The Rotaract Earth Initiative is an annual campaign by Rotaractors in Uganda, D9211 started in April 2015 to plant ten million trees by 2020. Through this initiative, Rotaractors are aiming at addressing climatic change, food insecurity and primary health care among others. This year we shall hold the 5th Edition, our target is to plant over 10,000 trees of different species including fruit trees. We shall be working with the local Government and schools, and also encouraging each house hold to take a tree to plant. We shall distribute crop seedlings to households and distribute sanitary towels to school going children.
Participation and attendance is open to Interact clubs, Rotaract clubs, Rotary clubs, individuals, corporate organisations and the community at large. The activities to be carried out during the project are
• Tree planting
• Proper hand washing campaign
• Sensitization of the community about environmental degradation
• A medical health Camp.
