DRR’s January Message

Dear change makers of District 9213, Happy New Year!

As we welcome 2026, I am filled with immense gratitude for the dedication you have shown during the first half of this Rotary year. We enter January, Vocational Service Month, with a renewed sense of purpose.

This is the perfect time to reflect on how we can use our unique professional skills and ethical standards to empower our communities and “Unite for Good.”

As we embark on this final stretch of the 2025–2026 year, I want to call your attention to three vital priorities:

  1. Fueling Impact: Supporting The Rotary Foundation Our transformative projects—from maternal health to environmental protection—are made possible by The Rotary Foundation (TRF). As we start the new year, I encourage every member and club to increase their contributions. Whether through the “Every Rotarian, Every Year” initiative or PolioPlus, your generosity is the fuel that allows us to do good in the world. Let’s lead the way in making District 9213 a shining example of Foundation support.
  2. A Historic Visit: RI President Francesco Arezzo I am thrilled to officially announce that our Rotary International President, Francesco Arezzo, will be visiting our district from February 20th to 22nd, 2026! This is a momentous occasion for Rotaractors in Uganda to engage directly with our global leader. Let us prepare to showcase our vibrant spirit, our hospitality, and the incredible impact of our service projects. Stay tuned for the official schedule and details on how you can participate in this historic visit.
  3. Our Growth Goal: Net Gain of 10 Members per Club Our strength is in our people. To ensure we leave a lasting legacy, I want to remind every club of our target: a net gain of ten (10) new members. Growth is not just about numbers; it is about bringing in fresh perspectives and more hands to serve. I challenge each club to use this Vocational Service Month to recruit young professionals who share our passion for service. Let’s make this second half of the year even more impactful than the first.

I look forward to seeing you all as we prepare to welcome President Francesco next month!
